1895 Steinway “B”
These legs were hand colored and grained to match this gorgeous antique Steinway case. Hard to believe someone would lacquer this in ebony.

We specialize in the art of rebuilding pianos, especially Steinway.. Every piano is personally done by master technician Steve Oliver; he has been working on these fine instruments for most of his life. Steve trained with Angelo Andino who is a thirty year veteran shop foreman and master belly man ( soundboard and interior expert) at Steinway’s Restoration center. Steve Oliver has the expertise to replace soundboards, bridges and pin-blocks, dampers and any other components to the exacting standards that only a Steinway Piano commands. We use only the finest parts and materials. Sherwin Williams lacquers are used exclusively (twice the price and quality of lacquers currently used today) the result is a high quality finish that will last for years to come. “We do all brands and treat them the same way” says Steve. Oliver’s comprehensive family background also include fine cabinet making and finishing.

Has your piano been neglected for a number of years?
As pianos age, temperature and humidity along with other environmental conditions affect the wood and components inside the instrument. Over time, sound boards and pin blocks can crack, tuning pins can become too loose, hammers can become compact and brittle, and the cabinet may dry out causing the finish to crack and check.
We are dedicated to restoring pianos to their best condition. Often times we get them to their original showroom condition.
Many of the older name pianos no longer have repair manuals – this is where old school experience comes into play. We have over 100 yrs of family experience handed down over five generations. “My family has worked on almost every brand ever made” says, Steve. This knowledge lets us know how to properly mark and reset all measurements to their original factory settings, especially the crown and bearing adjustments. We also know which of today’s hammers perform the best on your brand of piano. Proper weighting and firmness (density of felt) make huge difference from brand to brand.
